Hemlock Sleeve Version 73

The wider sleeve looks sloppy ... sloppy around the lace edge ... sloppy around the shoulder.  I thought having a wider sleeve would make less foldy bits around the arm pit .... you know, ease the transition point between the sleeve and sweater body ... but it appears to have made them worse.

Evidence:
I like the shorter length, though.  I'm going to redo the sleeve the original width, but the new shorter length.  Here's the thinner, original sleeve for comparison:
Plowing onward to sleeve version 74 ...

... and that won't be the last of the sleeve-work either because I'll have to length/shorten one of the sleeves once I decide which length I like best.

This is the point in sweater knitting where I start hating the sweater I'm making.  I (metaphorically) grit my teeth and knit knit knit because I just want the $#^@#&$% thing done.

Though, I know as soon as it's off the needles and the ends are secured ... I'll forget all about this love the everlovin' hell out of it.

for my 2 cents I prefer the longer sleeve
I like where it ends on your arm better.

Despite the "pain & suffering" you must go thru to perfect your item, I'm inspired by every project you make! I've only just started to learn, so I can so see how frustrating (yet still satisfying) this project will be!

I really do admire your dedication. The notion that if one is going to spend that much time making something, one might as well make sure it's just how you want it is all very well and good in theory, but it really does take some will power to stick to it in practice after a certain point. Hang in there!

Kingshearte ... Agreed! I think the blog fuels some of my stick-to-it-tive-ness. I don't want to admit defeat to you guys. :) I suspect if I didn't have anyone to answer to I might have a closet full of super janky sweaters ... or maybe even just unfinished projects. :) the blog gives me a sense of accountability.

I am truly amazed by your perseverance. I recently had to frog most of the body of a pretty simple sweater and was furious the whole time, I hate frogging!
