Oh, knitted sweater number 3, how I love thee.
Helena is complete.
Before Helena, when I've told random people I made the sweater I'm wearing, I've heard the slightly enthusiastic, "Oh, that's nice. How cool. Um, nice." Certainly crafty sorts are always awesome, but random people usually couldn't care less. And I tell a lot of random people because I just can't help myself. But I figure we're even since I couldn't care less about that sports score they were talking about a couple moments before ... ha!
But! When I tell anyone (crafty or not) that I made this sweater, they really are impressed. I think some people think I'm pulling their leg at first. That's a pretty awesome feeling.
The sweater is super comfy and very light. There's some warmth, but the wide neckline gives me a lot of space to cool off. I'll be able to wear this most seasons.
I blocked the hell out of it and made it a little bigger than it needs to be. I'm sure it'll snap back when I wash it and I can block it less aggressively next time.
I was a little worried that the dolman sleeves would not be flattering, but I absolutely love them. I love love love this sweater. The Knit Picks Comfy fingering yarn is soft and light. They don't sell this green (Honeydew) anymore, so I feel pretty lucky to have snagged it.
I totally want to make another. In this fantasy, I make it completely seamlessly (somehow?!) from cuff to cuff. I guess with provisional cast on and some sort of grafting on the two armpit seams, I could do that.
