I got far enough along with my Hemlock that I could try it on ... and it was ... big.
I measured the gauge and figured out that my "knitting the sweater" gauge was just a bit off from my "knitting a swatch" gauge. Just enough to put me up one size. And I was already going to have several inches of positive ease with the size I was making.
I also didn't like the two-repeat-lace edge. It was too much fabric on my neck. I run a little hot already, so having a sweater border be the equivalent of a heavy scarf isn't too smart.
But I really love the sweater pattern and the yarn, so I started over with the next size down and omitted one of the lace repeats at the edge. I have a feeling this will make the sweater perfect! And, I may have enough yarn to finish it exactly as I'd like, since I'm saving all the yardage from omitting the lace repeat.
I didn't frog the gigantic sweater yet ... just in case. :)
