Pix!

I spent a some time this weekend reorganizing my craft supplies and WIPs. Everything was a big jumble and it was getting hard to find what I wanted.  Mixed in one of my craft piles, I found the fair isle swatch from the class I took.  Yay!

It's really not that exciting.  I even messed up the middle row, which should have been two rows tall instead of one.  But later I can look back at my humble beginnings and see how far I've come.

If you look at the bottom rows (near my thumb) I did a couple rows with just a brown speck every so often.  In between the specks, I "caught the float" meaning I anchored the long bits of brown yarn with the cream yarn.

The V bits show all the places I caught my floats.  The straight bits are where I made a brown knit stitch.

That's great, Alice! I'm especially impressed that it's in the round too. Thanks for taking a picture of the back of your swatch - I've been thinking about giving Fair Isle a go recently, but I just couldn't get past not understanding what it would look like at the back. I feel a little less intimidated by it now. :)
