It looks lovely , but you may want to try a steel hook for crocheting thread you get a tidier finish.
I have crochet doilies for a long time.

Betsy ... Yes. I need a set of steel hooks. I made all these swatches with the smallest hook I have. You're right that I'll get a tidier finish ... and the drape might be better (or worse). I need to just order them! :)

I love it!
I'm envious of both your talent -and- your proximity to craft stores that have crochet cotton available in more than 100g balls.
I'd give my right arm to knit from a cone of the stuff.
(See what I did there? *grin*)
P.S. can you tell me how to get my camera into Macro Mode? Her name is Stella and I'm pretty sure she's afraid of me. I'm a shaker.

T ... Would you believe I had to reread you comment several times before I saw it? Ha! Doesn't your camera have a manual? ;)

Is there anything, now that you have learned to knit, that you can't do?
I love what you are doing with your finger crochet! And it is obvious you are having fun with it!

Actual words out of my mouth, "Whoa that is freaking awesome". And then my phone rang and I thought: is that Alice calling wondering why I'm commenting like a mad woman right now? :-D

Kuky ... Hahahaha! I almost texted you today to get some info about Twitter and see if you could come on Wednesday. It would have been funny if I texted you while you were leaving all these comments!

I love this handbag and am wondering if you have any plans to write up a knit pattern for those of us who cannot crochet!

Monica ... I'm a brand new knitter, so I'm not quite confident enough to write a pattern yet. :) Crocheting is easy, really!

I've been thread crocheting for 20 + years,I actually prefer it over yarn.In-Fact that is what I learned to crochet on, and you really do need Meatal hooks, the plastic tends to make your thread drag instead of the smooth steady flow that is neccesary in thread crochet in order to get that beautiful lacy look on your doilies & other fun projects. By the way I just came across your site this morning, & I just Love it & put it in my bookmarks.

June ... I have gone out and bought a set of steel hooks to try out with the crochet thread. I haven't had a chance to try them out yet, but I'm sure they'll be great. :) I'm glad you like my site! Visit anytime.
