Craft Bar

Craft Bar last Thursday was amazing!  The weather was nice enough that there were tables and chairs set up outside for us.  There were two great hand-sewing projects plus the knitting and crochet stitch and bitch area.

I did a great job documenting the crowds (OMG so many people!).  You can see all my photos in my Craft Bar Flickr Set. But I totally forgot to take an up-close of me and my outfit and accessories.  Thanks to Amelia of MOCFA, all is not lost:

Sister Diane of CraftPod sent the beautiful pin I'm wearing.  As you can see below, it perfectly matches one of my favorite skirts.  I got compliments all night!

The little guy sitting next to me learned how to crochet AND knit that night.  Superstar!  Can't wait for next month!

Aw, man! That picture of you teaching that cute young man how to crochet, wearing my little brooch, makes me all kinds of happy. Might need to put that one on my fridge! :-)

Sister Diane ... On the fridge?! Too cool. :) The little guy was *so* enthusiastic. After he learned he wandered off. He came back twice, once to ask if you could turn one long chain into two smaller chains and once to explain his plans for making some sort of green monster by attaching chains to his already strange shape and crocheting around them. Boys!

I love the pin and the Idea of a craft bar. Here in Belgium it simply does not exist

caroline ... You could start one! It doesn't have to start big. Find someone to craft with and go to the bar or a cafe. Soon, you'll find more people. :)

That looks so fun! I may not be in SF by the next craft bar, but I'm moving there in early to mid-July; I should be able to make it there in August at least! I'm really excited to have a fun crafty event to look forward to.

Mo ... Yay for moving to the bay area! Craft Bar is usually the first Thursday of the month. I'm hoping to start another afternoo/night of crafting at the park, which I hope becomes a regular thing. It would be great to see you there. :)

Whoa I didn't realize it was so crowded. Duh. San Francisco. Loads of people.

And on that Thursday, I said to Alan, I'm going to a bar!! But of course I couldn't really go. He had work.

Fabiola ... It's in downtown San Francisco. They host the get together the first Thursday of the month. It's a lot of fun.
