Thank you for all the wonderful comments on my blogaversary post. You are the sweetest! It makes me so happy that you come visit me (whether you comment or not). Big hugs!!!
The votes for the
secret hex bag (2 were just for the hex bag handles!) outscored everything else. Second runner up was the wristlet pattern, which is impressive since I started making those in February of 2007. It says a lot that people are still excited about them.
Here's the actual breakdown of votes:
7 hexbag (5 bag, 2 handles)
4 wristlet
2 office chair covers
1 stuffie pattern
1 winter hat
1 craft resource list
1 project from my 1966 Japanese craft magazine, like
this sweater (scroll down)
1 something from any Japanese craft book
1 crochet techniques
1 knitting basics
1 knitting or crocheting basics
1 peacock sweater
1 a kooky personal story
I think I'll start with the handles, since there are other hex bag patterns out there. But I did alter the hex design from the pattern I was inspired by, plus, I made the top of the bag flat, so I'll do the whole kit and caboodle in a series of posts, tutorials, and videos. Woo-hoo!
Have a good idea what I should call it? Secret hex bag might need more explaining than a name should need. Here are some of my ho-hum ideas:
- Hexatote (greek prefix "hexa-" plus "tote" ... a little too obvious maybe. and maybe sounds a little bit too much like an amoebic disease)
- Kitchen Sink Hex Bag (that's the colorway I was going for; everything and the kitchen sink)
You'd think it'd be easier to think up a list of horrible pattern names. You'd be wrong. OK, let's try again:
- Bright Hex Blooms Tote
- Magical Hex Tote
- Hex Burst Bag
- Gathered Flowers Tote
- Hex Bouquet Tote
- Vingt-huit Fleur (/
vahn-tweet flahr/ 28 flowers in French, kinda unpronounceable.)
-
Centripetal Hex Bag (ok, enough with the dictionary/thesaurus ...)
There you go. I *know* you can come up with something better. So, out with it.
