Knitted Chair Covers

The two guest chairs in my office from work have been well-loved.  I want to spruce them up a little with slip covers.  After measuring them, I tweeted that I thought I was crazy for wanting to make knitted covers .  I immediately got at least five replies telling me it was an awesome idea.

So I bought some wonderful Vanna's Choice colors and I'm off and striping!  I call this selection, "adult rainbow."

I love the way this stuff knits!  All of my stitches look perfect.  With the cotton I'd been using, sometimes there would be loose knitting that looked stretched out and goofy.  This yarn looks perfect.

I think I must have gotten a bad batch of the Vanna's Choice, because it was really rough on my hands!

I LOVE Vanna's Choice! My crochet stitches always look more uniform in her yarn than a lot of others.

Since you were talking about measuring them, it reminded me of this huge water tower cozy. I thought it was knit, but after reading the article i believe it was actually crocheted. http://www.nydailynews.com/ny_local/2008/12/13/2008-12-13_a_crocheted_labor_of_love_artist_robyn_s.html

I visited the US for the first time this year and bought some Vanna's and some Caron Simply Soft and I have to say I'm really impressed with both brands. I really wish you could buy them over here in the UK as I think they're great yarns.

It's a shame you can't knit with wool,if you like the Vanna's you would love how good wool feels and knits and then kind of melds together so when you block it it makes your knitting look flawless. That's my favorite part.
Love looking at all your projects and I check in with your blog almost everyday to see if you added anything new. Thanks for all the fun.

meg ... OMG! I love that chair! So awesome. It's the perfect use of crochet, too, since you can plan as you go and easily adjust. Thanks for the link!
