Charts and charts and charts

I've been a good little worker bee during this project.  I've charted every variation of the stitch as I need to use it.  This is huge for me, because I usually just dive in and then try to reverse engineer what I did once I find something that works.  This time I'm doing a little more pre-planning than I usually do and it's totally paying off.

The weird thing is, when I do anything other than crafts, I *always*  pre-plan, strategize,  and research everything.  Maybe I don't with crafts to maintain the *fun* of creating.  But, let me tell you, it's still fun to crochet this sweater with the charts pre-written.  Doubleplusfun.

it looks like you are trying to draw a polycheate worm (haha) (no i am not a science-person). it is amazing what happens when you *plan* what you want to do...i have been learning that lesson again, and again. also, write down what you plan to do...if you need to keep something whole, or cut it apart...it can make a huge difference to the final project (and the limited supply of source material - i have run out of fabric because i didn't make the right notes for myself and thought i had "extra"... and not known from whence it came and cried...but it all works out in the end. Looking good!

Good for you! I usually reverse engineer my own work too. Even if I do start out with a chart, I'm not always disciplined enough to keep charting when I make changes as I go. I should, you're right it makes things more fun. Can't wait to see your finished project.
