Flower Purse 2 - Update 3

Speed. Of. Light.  All the flowers are done.  All the brown connectors are done.
All the flower ends are woven in.  All the brown ends are tied.
It's so awesome when you're making a one-sided thing because your weaving in doesn't have to be pretty.

WOW. I don't want to know how many cups of coffee you had to drink to do this so quickly. Actually, I do. There was coffee involved, right?

Lovely! You must have lightning hands! I'm particularly picky about weaving in ends...

That's fast! can you please give me the measurements of the whole thing as I'm making it to but my gauge is way off, and i don't want it to be a super-small handbag.. Thanx! And good luck with the rest of it (peace of cake from now ;))

aimee ... I'm being lazy, so I'm pointing you to a post for my first flower handbag:

http://www.futuregirl.com/craft_blog/2008/11/flower-purse-update-5.aspx

where I say that the finished square bit is about 25" by 30". I'm assuming this one is about the same.

Susie ... No more coffee than usual. I'm as stumped as you about where all this craft time is coming from. Mostly I do work on the purse while Andrew and I are talking after dinner. Maybe it's because we haven't been able to go on our normal walks lately because of RAIN.

Aimée ... Heaven's no! You're not lazy. I actually had to go through about 8 posts to find the one with measurements. Ha! Now that I think about it, it might have been easier just to measure the thing, but I didn't want to get out of my office chair. Hmmm ... OK, I'm just going to do it ... this one is 21" by 28". I must be crocheting tighter. xo!

Wow!

A crochet question, if it's one sided do you have to weave in the ends? Is it because they might get through to the front since there are spaces between the flowers? If there were no spaces could all the ends just hang out all floaty inside?

Kuky ... Answer: Yep, I weave them in because they would eventually poke out the front. Although, I still weave in ends on my Starling Bags even though they couldn't poke through. It's just nice when the ends are hidden that they can be sorta sloppy.

Alice, its beautiful! I wish I had the time, now that school has started back I'm barely getting in eating and sleeping! It'll slow down soon... I hope! I also love that a tiny bit of y'all's feet are showing in the pic... :)

Corinne ... I'm trying to space out the crafty joy. The lion is going to make an appearance here in a couple of days.

Hi Alice
I am very much impressed by ur blog! When I saw ur Flower bag I am so impressed & want to do one. One thing I did not get how to make is the interlinking the flowers between in brown color! How u did that.. I mean is it another flower? Or simple chainstitch? Please help me to do this bag!
Love,
viraja

viraja ... Thank you for the sweet comment! You are right, it *is* another flower. If you want to make the bag, I suggest you get the book or find a similar pattern. I can't walk you though the whole thing, haha! :)
