Starling Handbag Now On Ravelry

I just added the Starling Handbag to Ravelry (free sign up required).   So, if you're a Ravelry-er you can now add the Starling Handbag to your Queue, Favorites, or Projects!  There are already two Starling Handbags in Ravelry.

I'm so happy about all the Starling Handbag enthusiasm!  Since Thursday it's been downloaded over 250 times!  Yay!!!

UPDATE:  In the last nine hours the number of Starling Handbag Ravelry projects has climbed to 7 and 46 people have queued it.  Awesome!

You read my thoughts -- I just joined Ravelry recently and started to add this as my first project.

(Actually, came here just now because I'm about to sew my lining in and wanted to check the tut. once more, then saw this new post. Will upload photos to the flickr gorup once it's complete.)

I am going to *try* and make this... so let's keep our fingers crossed. I'm not great at reading crochet patterns. But this one looks AMAZING. :)

This is such a stylish bag. I really want to start working on my crochet skills, but I'm more of a revamping furniture and sewing kinda gal. Do you have any recommendations for an easy crochet project?

Thanks for the inspiration...

rosyprint ... Well, the small size of the Starling Handbag would be cake, but something even easier would be the beaded crochet bracelet ... tutorial here: http://www.futuregirl.com/craft_blog/2007/7/crochet-beaded-bracelet_30.aspx

hi Alice,
I have just finished the starling handbag yesterday evening. I have posted it on my flickr page, I couldn't find your flickr group. My handles don't stand alone, like yours or like the ones I have seen on Ravelry. Do you think it is the type of yarn or my crocheting was too loose?
I loved doing it and now I want to make a large black one too.

Alice, the finished photos are finally up on my ravelry page. (My user name is schwammrs.)

Help !! is there a chart? I stink with written instruction.

Priscila ... I invited you to the Flickr group. :) I did a little photo-magic on my handles by pinning them together for the photo. It is possible that your stitching is looser, but I don't think that matters too much.

Betsy ... I plan on adding a chart eventually, but I don't have an ETA on that.

Couldn't wait to try this and I'm ridiculously happy with how it turned out! Haven't attempted a lining yet - may forgo that right now because of the felting.
Thanks so much! love, love, love this bag!
