Flower Purse Closure

I've been wanting to add a closure of some sort to my flower bag because when I set it down, it opens up wide.

This afternoon I spent an hour attaching a button and loop to it.  A perfect, quick weekend project.

The button is a small wooden button that almost matches the flower centers.  The loop is six strands of brown yarn braided.

Everyday I love this purse more and more.  We are going to have a wonderful summer together!

when i saw the title of this post, i thought you meant you were all done with the purse, like finally, after all the tweaks and whatnot. i see you aren't...it's still a living work in progress! and very cool, by the way.

looks good :) nice little button to use. wouldn't want something really flashy as I think it would just end up clashing with the flower pattern

I think everything you do and make is great, but your excitement about the flower purse is extra-special. And I don't blame you; it IS adorable. How does it and Ponchi get along?

Have started whispering to your purse all the great places you will go together? The purse is sooooo awesome! You just keep making it better. I wonder if it's finally done?

Darn, I was hoping that you would be sick of the bag by now. If that day ever comes, I'd be willing to give it a very loving home...

oh my god!! i just fell in love for this bag all over again.. i had seen it on your post like a couple of months ago and i adored it, but i let it go since i had no way of making myself one.... that is, until tonight!!

since i absolutely can´t buy the book, for geographical reasons mainly, i´m looking really close to your work and trying to duplicate it (i hope you dont mind!), i have spent the last 5 hours doing, ripping and then redoing the flowers over and over and i think i got it.... anyways, i just wanted to thank you for writing up all your progress, this has to be indeed the most fabulous bag of the universe!! im making mine in lilac and purple
thanks!!

Do you have a pattern for this? It is beautiful! Would you mind emailing it to me?

Proud Momma ... The pattern is in a Japanese craft book. Click the category "project - flower purse" and there is info about the book in that post. :)

I see that you have finished your purse here. Did you find that it turned out smaller then you thought in the end once assembling it with handles?

misty ... I think it's huge! If you come back to this post and click the category "project - flower purse" then look at the "out and about" post, you can see me with the purse. I could fit two human heads in that thing.

Will you ever be selling the pattern for a bag similar to your flower bags? I have tried finding this japanese book, but cannot. This is really one of the nicest bags ever .....

mags ... I have no plans right now to design a similar bag. Sorry to disappoint you!
