Yep. I ran out of yarn.
Whatever.
(sigh)
Honestly, I'm not disappointed because I'm not 100% convinced that a worsted weight sweater would please me, ultimately. BUT, let's take a look at how far I got, shall we?
I sewed up the front of the sweater with the only length of yarn I had, which wasn't enough to actually close the front. I just wanted to see how it would fit when buttoned up.
Not bad, huh?
See the cone I'm holding? That's all the yarn that's left. I wasn't even close to having enough yarn. I wanted to make the sweater as long as the shirt. PLUS, I wanted to add some sleeves. Oh, well.
I was making the waist fitted. The arrow points to where I decreased 4 stitches on two rows. I like the way it's curving on the back.
Now that I see this photo, I sorta feel like the arm hole is too wide from side-to-side. But when I tried to make it smaller during development, it just looked weird. Argh. I don't think there's a happy medium there, which is why I was going to add sleeves to hide that weird slash-shaped hole.
Here's the back. Lookin' good. I love the way the sleeves curve up off the back of the sweater.
This is the same photo as before. The red arrows show you where the increases and decreases are. Not super obvious. And, if you're to be trusted, some blocking and washing would mostly obscure the tell-tale signs of increases.
Here's the fancy shot.
So, now I'm going to frog up to the yoke and try something else for the torso part. I've got an idea ... maybe I can get the yarn I've got to go a little farther.
