Fold A Crane For Jen

I just received an email from Pam, a wonderful woman I met through this blog.  She has undertaken the task of collecting 1,000 cranes to present to her former classmates, Jen, who has a brain tumor, as a gesture of support and love.

It would be so sweet of you to fold a crane (or two) and mail them to Pam.

I know I will.

Alice, Thanks for posting this. I re-posted over at DudeCraft. Maybe we can get as many cranes for Jen as showed up for Killian.

Best,

Paul

What a lovely idea! I especially like that the site has instructions on how to fold them, cuz I don't know how. No better time or cause to learn, methinks! Thanks for posting the link.

When my sister-in-law had her brain surgery a Japanese friend of the family made her 1000 cranes. I can't promise it was the cranes, and she's a long way from her former self, but 5 years after suffering numerous strokes on the operating table etc. her daughter now has a wee baby brother. Best wishes.

I had a few cranes left over from making my sons mobile - I've just sent them off to her :)

It's a very beautiful idea to give someone support and hope in a difficult time.

I did the same and received many crane donations from a friends class. They had an origami day and the children donated their cranes to my cause.

Perhaps you could do the same or have an origami night to fold and share stories with one another.

Also, a lovely display could be a mobile or large picture frame decorated with the cranes to display a picture and a message of hope and support that they can always see.
