Growing Like (Tiny-Tiny) Weeds

Apparently, berating your succulents is a sure way to get them to grow.  My cactus have totally shot up in the last month.  Although, for these Lilliputian plants, "shot up" means mere millimeters.  I didn't kill any in the last month either.  Maybe they are growing because of the last little summer we've been getting.  It was in the 90's this weekend.  Crazy!

Five huge close-ups are on my Flickr with notes.

They are just so cute!!
Maybe the little ones are still little because the big guys suck all the life needed to grow? :) (Bullies)

Adorable! I'd need a good pair of tweezers because they are so cute that I'd probably keep touching them!

Haha! I have been following your blog for a while now and am so surprised at how terribly slow those little cacti grow! Goodness! :)

I know I've said this before but they are So Freaking Cute! You must stare and want to touch them. I certainly would. They don't look real, there just to cutely perfect!

I always found that the best way to care for cacti was to simiulate dessert conditions, by forgetting to water them for months on end. I think they were actually growing and flowering just out of a desire to show me that I couldn't kill them, no matter how much they were neglected...

Unfortunately, this approach is not working for my current house plants.

Every time I see these little cacti, I think of manta rays (albeit spiky ones) standing on their tails.

dude they so look like spiky manta rays standing on their tails! XD

my MiL has a black thumb. give her a normal houseplant, she won't water it enough. give her a cactus, she'll over-water it. give her an acid-loving plant, she'll feed it lye. give her a fake plant, she'll accidentally set it on fire.

i love having flowers around the house. i'll pro'ly buy some later today. and maybe a barrel cactus.
