T Minus 2 ... and counting

I only have two more pages to fill up in my old notebook before I get to switch to my new one.  To get the new one ready, I hand-sewed clear vinyl pockets into it.  Because of it's thickness and rigidity, I can't sew it with the machine.

I pre-poked the holes with a pin.  I used the leaf pattern to make them evenly-spaced.  If you need to do this on plain paper, you could sandwich a piece of graph paper between the paper and the vinyl to use as a guide for poking your holes before you sew it up.

I left pins in the corners as I sewed to help me keep everything straight.  I used some floss from my left over floss bits box.

I just found your blog.. and you are so like me it's kinda scary. I am 36. Web designer - turned into eeevel creative director (kidding - sorta). I love love love crafts and finally started a craft blog (work tried to hold me down but I finally broke free - only took me 8 years). I am learning to sew (better) and can crochet (I stink at knitting). I am getting getting into fabric. seriously - getting into fabric. I get up at the crack of dawn to go to work so I gotta run - but I WILL BE BACK! Your blog ROCKS!

It looks great!!
The back pocket is one of the reasons I'm faithful to my Moleskines!

what a great idea - that would work great for just about any age, with all kinds of possibilities for design. Thanks for the tip! I just made one, but cheated a little more (bought a daytimer and personalized it....I just photographed it on my blog...)

Really good idea. And very neatly done I must say.
