Glitter! Glitter! Glitter! Giveaway!

I love glitter.  LOVE glitter.  Glitter rocks.  Here's an example of just how glitter-crazed I can be: I used to have this awesome set of matching skull address labels and skull checks.  I used glitter glue to put sparkly red eyes on *all* 240 address labels.  See?  I'm cuckoo for the glitter.  I don't get to glitter things as much as I used to.  It's probably been a good 8 years since I've gotten a good glitter fix.  Then I got this in the mail ...
Wow!  I occasionally get promo packages from Martha Stewart and most of the time they're neat, but the Glitter Stamping Starter Kit has really knocked my socks off.  I was so shocked I didn't even open the packaging up for a week.  Then it took another week for me to actually mess with all the components to figure out how the heck it works because I was so afraid I was going to wreck this most-awesome kit.

It's even cooler than I imagined!  The stamping base is clear plastic so you can see where you're stamping (brilliant!) and the rubbery stamps just kinda stick to it.  That means you can use the stamps unlimited times, in unlimited combos, and in unlimited positions.  I thought, since it was called a "starter kit" that they just included one base and once you attached some stamps to it you'd have to get a another base ... but NO!  They just mean that you're started on a life-long spree of glue-stamping be-glittering fun.

I've been waiting for a free moment the last two weeks to break out the glue stamp pad, the bird and leaf stamps, and get glittering (or the snowflakes ... or the starbursts ... or the butterflies) but I haven't had that free moment.

GIVEAWAY

The truth is that I will never use this because I just don't do paper-crafts much.  I wouldn't want to load the glue stamp pad up for *one* glitter orgy.  That would be sad.  This awesome kit should live in a home where it will be loved and often used.  So I'm giving this away to one of you.  Leave a comment telling me about your love of glitter, shiny things, or paper crafting.

To be included in the drawing, leave your comment before the end of the day Tuesday, August 12th (that's the midnight between the 12th and the 13th Eastern Time).  To find out what time that is where you live, choose your time zone next to the heading "Select place to convert to" on this page at The World Clock.

I'm sure it would feel totally at home here, either on my cards or in my DH's paper! It would be a wonderful surprise for him! So please enter me in the drawing! Love your blog! Warmest aloha! CC

wow! i would love this! I have a bit of a passion for glitter too. Whenever I scrapbook I try to incorpate some of the stuff into my pages. With the school file I had last year I got all my glitters together and made a masssive rainbow across my file in glitter(plus or minus a few colours I didn't have, like red!). Bits of the glitter would always rub off my file and people would find bits and say "Shivi was here!" It was said to say goodbye to that file after it broke.... :(

I would have so much fun with the stamps - the thing that puts me off rubber stamping is partly due to the wooden block in the way of the stamp - like taking a photo on an old-fashioned camera - you'd get absolute accuracy all the way with those though. You could make great patterned backing paper with them...

*bounces* GLITTER! Seriously, the only two "girlie" things I do are Tinkerbell and glitter. I'd love to make some wedding invitations with that set, how gorgeous!

On a major -side- note: I know this won't make a difference but those colours would be perfect for the wedding invitations I want to make for my pending nuptials - yes, my geek finally asked ;) I hope you're well, Alice! And FYI, still no little green things for me, I think they may be developmentally challenged.

Ok I'm not commenting to win glitter because Isabelle and glitter WOULD NOT mix. I actually bought some glitter with every intention to play with Isabelle but then logic slapped that thought out of my head. Maybe when she's older and wouldn't get glitter well...everywhere.

I'm just commenting to say: DAMN 240 sparkly red eyes?! That's determined right there. Crazy determined.

Wow, thanks for the giveaway! Not only do I love glitter, but Martha as well! My baby knows her picture by name from the cover of one of her Christmas books (it sounds something like "Marbla" when he says it). I am currently perusing it for Christmas ideas. And what could possibly be better than making and sending glittery Christmas cards to our friends and family? Not much, methinks!

Hi -- I'm a member of the Fitchburg (Mass.) School Committee and also spend every Wednesday afternoon at the Elm Street Church doing crafts with the kids from the neighborhood. The kids who live in that part of Fitchburg don't have a lot -- many of them are not living w/their bio-parents, most don't live in homes where someone has a job, or a car. Part of my private personal mission has been to bring art into these children's lives every Wednesday and to present craft opportunities to them that THEY can do. So far they've made clay votive candles, all kinds of beaded jewelry and we're starting on macrame. If we had the glitter stamps we could probably have the younger kids work on making sets of cards to sell at the Christmas Fair. There are some 30 kids who participate at the Church and they're all terrific, plus the pastor and his wife are very dedicated to their mission of providing stability in a neighborhood where gunshots are heard at all hours of the day, drug deals happen on the corner and abandonned houses are rife. I am dedicated to improving the schools in this area but I also work at Fitchburg Art Museum, which is a stone's throw from this neighborhood. If we create a generation of artists who knows what will happen? Thanks for your website

As a teacher, I know firsthand the power of glitter. Any ordinary art project becomes immediately EXTRAordinary when glitter is added. One thing you have to get used to is how persistent glitter can be. One dot of glitter will stick to you for a week ~ it's on your elbow, stuck to your cheek when you get out the shower, moves to your ankle, later you find it pressed flat on your knee. That little dot is your new best friend.

OH MY GOD, OH MY GOD, OH MY GOD...sorry, glitter tends to bring out my inner cheerleader that I have tried so hard to repress. Let me just say that I am in fact in grad school right now because of glitter. I am studying to be an art therapist because I have a *huge* passion for all things sparkeling and bright and that have the inhearant ability to bring joy to others. (I could possibly be the love child of Liza Minelli and Liberace!) I am doing my master's internship in a low-income area of Baltimore and I am working with children who don't have access to crayons in their schools. I would LOVE to be able to share this with them!

While I would love to have this kit for my very own, but if my number comes up, I would much rather it go to one of the lovely ladies here that want to share the kit with underprivileged kids. I think art is incredibly important in the development of children; I just can't think of a better way to help kids discover their individuality, and an appreciation for creativity. I know that art programs are the first to be cut in schools with budget issues, and I really respect those that are working to keep art in the lives of kids that are in that kind of situation =]

I can't get enough of glitter. My friends make fun of me because I can't walk past something glittery without slowing down and touching it. Glitter, shine, sparkle... I can't leave it alone. I spent 4 hours hand gluing rhinestones to my rotary phone for my craft room. I bought a little octopus figurine and had to paint him with turquoise glitter before he looked right. I craft constantly and I've been getting more and more into paper and stamps! Thanks for the giveaway - I'd love to win! Good luck to all!

http://www.new.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=1183159&l=494d4&id=552646401

She loves to craft, especially anything to do with paper. She cuts, folds, glues, draws, colours, paints, glues stuff to paper, and of course glitter. But she has never stamped with glitter, and a kit where you can see how where you're stamping and are able to adjust and re-adjust is perfect for Rhiannon and her unlimited and changeable imagination!
Thanks!
