Love your blog! I read in my feedreader :)

Our printer is kind of... er, dated to say the least! I have a pin-back button machine that I LOVE and so I have to save up a page-worth of designs till I can justify a trip to Copy-Max to make a print-out! LOL I make all kinds of buttons, crafty buttons, environmental buttons, political buttons, snarky buttons...

It would be super cool to scan some of the sewing patterns I've come up with to put up as PDFs for download! Sounds like this would make it pretty easy, no?

I love taking photos and drawing but have no way of printing them out I would like to make card ( greeting, post cards out of some of my photos) I would also like to be able to manipulate some of my finer arts into photo arts by scanning them in. would be very fun to win and very useful too.

My fabulous hand-me-down all-in-one printer that was a hand-me-down from my boyfriend died on me in the middle of spring semester. So I replaced it with cheap but portable Canon printer which does nothing but sit compactly and loudly print pages. No frills, nothing exciting.

I would truly love to have a printer in which I could scan some of my handdrawn knitting charts, swatches, and magazine patterns to reformat into printable PDFs. I am veyr much on the go all the time so having a handy paper pattern that I easily bend and write on would be a godsend.

I would also love to be able to convert some of my nature and fiber photography into post cards and greeting cards.

The addition of this printer would also free me and my now-fiancee from arguing over who has printing rights over our one printer. Everytime I need to print something (which is often since I test knit a lot of patterns) I have to email it to his account and then wait until he feels like printing it out. With the Kodak printer I would be independent and free from printer groveling!

I'm continually inspired by vintage photos, especially those panormaic photos they used to take of school classes, reunions, army units, etc. I would use this great little piece of technology to help create some beauties!

What a fantastic giveaway! You and Kodak rock! :)
I've been using my photos and printer for sending out personalized thank you cards to friends and family (usually with a photo of my daughter),scanning in sketches for clients of cakes i'm going to create for them and the usual standby of printing out photos to frame or incorporate into a collage as a gift.

Lord, what would I NOT do with this unit? I've been wanting a scanner for ages, to help bring paper-based patterns to fabric and vice-versa (not to mention, scanning my print articles and making nicer graphics for my book and magazine reviews). I could also make a wicked comic book for my nephew with this bad-boy. Oh, and - the ability to make copies without walking down to the copy store? What a beautiful dream....

the printer is my best friend when it comes to my crafting! there's so many things I use the printer for!
- making copies of originals so i won't mess the originals up
- printing out templates or patterns for sewing projects from quilting to clothes making
- printing my logo on to twill tape to use as labels
- when i paint i print out a rough computer sketch to use as my guide
- creating invitations, decorations, etc. for parties
i'm sure there's many more things I can use a Kodak printer for! I'd love to be able to print pictures of my son or of his computer drawn creations as well! Plus, I know I'll get a kick out of the "robot-y noises" and shooting paper!

How awesome that Kodak is doing this for you!

Let's see... I use my scanner so much that it's about to fall apart. I'm constantly scanning my drawings and sketches so I can print them out and give them as gifts. It would be so awesome to actually have a good quality printer instead of my crappy Dell.

I have another brand all-in-one. When their friends visit, I bring out the paper and colored pencils. The art work they've made gets scanned before they leave, so they can take the original home. As a surprise, I print out a copy, transfer the design, embroider it onto muslin (be sure to add the original date) and frame it up (thrifted frames!) We have a well-received gift ready for their next birthday and I get to practice my needle work.

The Kodak brand sounds awesome! My brand works, but it's cumbersome to work. If I win, I'll gladly offer my other brand to someone locally (Diane of CraftyPod perhaps?)

Sweet! :)

I love ironing different fabrics onto printer sized bits of freezer paper and messing around with printing my photographs onto different textures of cottons and etc. You need some sort of fixative stuff if you want to make washable items but I haven't bothered with that (just been using a hot iron because I've just been making little un-washable things to sew or frame). Fun! :)

I'm "printer- less". I had a deskjet, but it died on me, last month. I used it to print patterns, mainly. I can think of a number of other things to do with this all-in-one: printing my catalog of jewelry, printing images to make inserts for my jewelry, scanning old photos to turn them into x stitch patterns, or for printing transfers for my tags.

What a generous giveaway! I love your review, especially the honesty about the robot noises. :-)

I actually don't have my own printer, so I have to....ahem...."borrow" it from work when I absolutely MUST print or scan something.

Actually, seeing as I'm trying to be much greener than I used to be, I would probably use the scanner option much more often than the printer. I'd love to explore scanning my own artwork to see what creative things I can do with that.

We have a printer that I currently use for printing on fabric (directly) and for creating iron on transfers, but I would love to have a scanner portion to it too so I can expand my craftyness (I would love to scan fabric to make my own transfers and not 'found' images and to also catalog my Burda WOF magazines)..... oh, I can think of so many possiblities now!

What don't I use a printer for? I use my printer for my picture charms for my jewelry that I make. I don't know what I'd do without my computer and printer! This new printer/scanner would be fantastic for scanning photos, etc. and to be able to make them into a pdf, something I can't do very easily right now. This would be a fantastic printer to be able to print on fabric too - something I am excited to try.

I print on fabric, to make softie books for babies (with photos of people in their lives). I print my own thank you cards and invitations, using the kids' and my drawings. I print tutorials for later use. I've finally got a digital camera and want to print prints.

But most importantly, my ancient scanner has started making weird noises and blotching and I feel like taking a baseball bat to my current printer as it keeps chewing up paper and telling me that brand new ink cartridges are out of ink... So, Kinkos is taking all my money, but they don't do ink-jet prints and sometimes won't even let me print on card. (sorry, it's a sore subject)

Wow - what wouldn't I do with this printer? I've just found out that I can't easily get the ink for my printer any more :(

I'm designing my own background papers and embellishments for cards and other papercraft so this printer would be fantastic.

Thanks for the chance at this wonderfully generous give away.

I use my printer for patterns, how-to instructions for different knitting bind offs and cast-ons. Thank you for the chance to win the all-in-one printer.

I would use the printer to make tags and gift cards. But we especially need it for it's fax capabilities. My husband has chronic renal failure and is seen by the VA hospital in Asheville. It is a 90 mile round trip for us that we can't just afford to run over there and we would use the machine for faxing prescriptions and medical reports back and forth.

I use my current printer & scanner almost daily to scan in rough artwork for finishing on the computer, and i recently used my printer to print out homemade party invitations for the 3 year old's birthday party. I so need this because there is alot of neat crafty things i want to try that require an inkjet printer, and mine is an old color laser. I am so glad you reviewed your machine here. My machine is headed towards the crapper, and your information that the Kodak ink is less expensive was very interesting to me. Now that I know the machine is good overall, I will definitely get a Kodak when my printer finally bites it.

In terms of how I use my printer for my "crafts." Well, one thing I do is give Super-Secret Staircase Tours of my town, and I think of that as a craft (I even had an article about it in Readymade some years ago). I use the printer to print out historical information, but more importantly, photos from the web. These need to be decent quality, because I then copy them for my handouts for the tour. I also use the scan function to get photos from some of the history books I have.

Another thing I am interested in right now is urban gardening. In my trailer park, there are a bunch of spaces that could be used for raising food, and I have been getting web resources bookmarked, and would like to be able to put together a packet about, say, small gardening in Lesotho and median gardening in London and Food Not Lawns. Color-printing would help in selling the cause.

I also make cards. My most successful cards (i.e. the ones that actually turned out looking like the idea in my mind) look like suitcases, with a handle made of a leather strip, luggage straps made of bias tape, and wee luggage labels color-copied from the box outsides of these collections of old luggage labels I have. I cut out the wee labels, paste them on, and voila! I have cards that look like old suitcases that have been around the world. I add a tea-dyed paper tag attached to the leather handle. I am proud of them.

Anyway, whether I get a free one or not, I'll be getting the Kodak, because of the ink price. And the robot noises.

I use my current fax/scanner/printer/copier all the time for personal, craft & business. But my favorite use is when I do my kids birthday postcard invitations. Every year I do a collage of photos from the year as a border (both the kids b-days fall within a week of halloweeen) and make up a cute- but short!- poem about what they've been up to and when the party is. It goes out as a full color oversized postcard to family & friends. Even if they can't make it to the party, they can see how the kids have grown and what they've been up to since the last invite. I've had more people try to pay me to do the same project for their kids' birthdays, but it's such a tradition with us that I won't. They can make their own, but I can't sell out. Besides, it's really easy to do on your own.

I think it would be easier to say what I WOULDN'T do with this beauty. But, since the question is what WOULD I do with it, the main thing I would use it for is scanning and preserving magazine articles I like. I have a tendency to horde away magazines all because I have one particular article I am saving it for. Instead of ripping out this one tiny article and losing it amongst the mess I like to call my "studio," I would scan it... create it's own little page devoted solely to it (and add notes or "reminders" to the page as well)... print it out and store it in a super-special binder. Not only does this save studio space, but I could then recycle the magazines and save the planet! YAY!

Much like most contraptions I'm a complete clutz when it comes to technology, so what I usually do is safely press the print icon on my laptop and print every damn cute pattern I find online. Print silly drunken picures of me and my lovely girlfriends in various states of drunken debauchery. Or make large copies of those pictures to send to our professors just so that they know what we spent our time doing instead of writing witty essays about the declining economy or the state of world politics. Fun times.

I'd use a new printer to print out high quality hard copies of my knit and crochet patterns. My current printer has a hard time dealing with knitting charts that use grayscale, and outsourcing the printing has been problematic for me. One local print shop managed to screw up an order 3 consecutive times, and the 3rd time, it was the shop manager who processed the order!

I use printers so much I have two of them! The old one only prints (scanner is dusty so the quality is bad), but I have two computers and I hate to get rid of something that works..

I make cards and prints using my own photography and a little photoshop. I do digital scrapbooking, I just finished a 100-page 8x8 album for my son who just graduated and all of the pages were printed on it. I can't believe my printer lasted!

I'm also making a book for a dear family in town who tragically lost their 16-year-old son last year. They hired me to scan all of their pictures and photoshop the pages into a nice memorial album for them to keep. I'll be scanning and scanning and printing.. I currently have an hp c6280 all-in-one which is not too bad. But I'd love to have an even better one!

You rock, futuregirl! THanks for the opportunity to win a free printer!

I haven't ever used a printer in crafting yet because I don't have one at home. I've been interested in doing transfers (for clay and fabric and anything else!) and printing patterns for a long time, so I'd love to have something like this to work with! It would also be great to turn some of my own patterns into pdf documents through the scanner feature :)

I love my printers (both aging...one laser inkjet and one all-in-one b/w laser) and my crafting would not be complete without them. I make copies of patterns - to preserve the originals, make templates and mock up colour patterns for my own creations, make photocard collages with photos and pencil drawings, print labels, make groovy paper airplane templates for my son (with elaborate artwork of course!), oh yeah...and print out excel spreadsheets for my accountant...ugh.

Wow - i use my printer to print directly onto special printer fabric - and when I am feeling brave i glue other fabrics to paper and printo nto them. I expect a lot from my printer - I print photos and colour blobs and designs for Gocco - before this post i never realised how lost I would be without it?

At the moment I ? get pictures an darkening them and then printing them out to make a stencil, all I have to do is cut out the coloured area with a craft knife and voila I have a stencil! Recently I've also been scanning my brother's artwork(little kiddie stuff)and printing it onto transfer paper an then ironing it onto plain calico tote bags- so cute and a great way to display my brother's pictures! :)

Lately I've been into carving my own stamps, and I've seen techniques where you print out an image, then transfer it to your carving material. I have been unable to do this for the lack of a printer. I also like to scan in my big black and white prints I make in the darkroom so I can share them on Flickr. I would also love to actually print out some crocheting patterns I find online - instead of running back and forth from the computer to my comfy bed to get the directions for the next row (yes, I'm lazy.)

I've used my printer for various crafts: printing iron on t-shirt transfers; printable shrinkydinks; printing designs to cut out with a craft knife and turn into stencils for painting on fabric, etc. I'd really like a high quality printer like this one so I can print my crochet patterns to sell, and print some of my digital photos to display around the house.

This is an amazing giveway!

I use my current printer for scanning in inspirational images for inspiration. I have used it for transfer images and for clear overhead projector printouts for wall murals. I have used it to transfer embroidery designs and to design sewing patterns (Bunting, baby booties, baby bibs, etc.) I use it to print designs of crafts I am working on (Like a design for a king-sized quilt). I am about to try my hand at shrinky dinks and I can't wait.

It is a very important tool for me, but last week it started printing everything in red. I replaced all the ink this weekend, but it is still printing only in red. I'm hoping some serious trouble shooting will fix it... but I'm worried.

I would love to be able to trust it with more expensive materials like heavy cardstocks, and special papers to print designs for embroidery on paper for greeting cards.

Good luck to all!

I use my printer to scan various crochet items or samples of the items I have made for my journal. That way I have a record of either the complete item or, if it is an afaghan, a picture of the stitch and color. It is really useful since I do not posess a good digital camera. An of course I use it to print out patterns and ideas I gather surfing the web!

I have been written and illustrated children's books (as yet unpublished but you never know!) and scan in my drawings/collage, manipulate, print, scan again... So good quality would be a big plus! I also use it for iron on transfers and to make little bits for sticking on cards e.g. the little messages for the front.

I use my printer for scrapbooking, embroidery, and other general craft stuff. These days I use my all-in-one for scanning advertisements from the 40's and 50's, printing them on transfer paper or using transfer pencils, and embroidering them onto scraps of fabric. I'm thinking that eventually I will piece all the scraps together and make a big quilt :)

My printer is crusty. I use it primarily for printing out tutorials, and creating stickers to put on my tags for my etsy stuff. If I were to recieve a new printer, I would start printing out my own labels on printer safe fabric, as well as experimenting with images to use on fabric. I would also like to make my own business cards, and cool things to include in my packaging. Plus I would print out pictures of my son.

I don't use my current printer much as it doesn't really do much else besides print. I was totally inspired by your first post about this kodak printer and was looking for a camera at the same time so bought a Kodak Easyshare - it's a great first digital camera! All the settings are fab and so easy to use! I bet the printer is easy to use too...*drools*

However, I do use my printer for very basic things. I use it to print knitting patterns and cross stitch patterns. I print any art or photographs I like which aren't copyrighted and which inspire me in some way.

Having a scanner would be a fab upgrade for me - I scan all day at work but then come home and don't currently have one for my craft work, which is so sad :@(! The facility to compress PDF files is so fab too as it would be easier for a reader of my blog to download any patterns :@)

I could start printing out my photos and easily scan patterns for lots of new online buddies I'm making since becoming a blogger! It would also help me on my way to becoming (hopefully) a freelance craft writer!

:@D

My printer has a life of it's own. It spits out awesome scrapbook pages, embellishments, craft ideas, patterns, recipes, letters, my newsletters, pictures, stuff for teaching my second-graders, important information. Wow how do I use a printer?? I print images I want to transfer as a screen image for purses I've made or shirts. I print up quilt patterns and coloring pages to get a feel for colors. I would love to make my own labels using transfer paper and a great printer. I don't think there is a crafty project I do that wouldn't include a printer. Unfortunately I need to move soon and my current printer is not that wonderful and isn't even mine. It belongs to my landlord. I have no photos printed because it's not something I can do on this printer now. There are so many things I would love to do and print but am unable to. I'd really love to print copies of photos of my Poppi to make a memory quilt for my Nonni including some of his old shirts. A printer like this one would certainly help with that. Thanks for all you do Alice. You are inspirational and I've lurked on your site a long time. Please continue posting your projects!

instead i'll tell you of something i wanted to do years ago, but the man didn't think it would be as funny as i did: scan photos of my kid's bum, & print them onto transfer paper. i would then iron the bum-photos onto shopping bags for the grandparents for xmas. heehee.

I print out photos that I have artfully edited (I love sepia tone main images with colored flowers) to images for ATC's. WOW, what an amazing giveaway! The only printer we have right now is really old, slow and generally outdated. I use my printer for printing out embroidery and sewing patterns, photos for scrapbooking, pictures and text for my Artist Trading Cards, and great tutorials like the ones on your blog! Also, I have recently started making memory quilts, and that includes printing photos on fabric. It would be amazing to win such an awesome printer, because with memory quilts it's important to get good quality printouts that will last a long time without fading, and my current printer isn't quite up to that challenge... Fingers crossed! /K

My daughter is going away to college this fall. It is my goal to create intriguing mail art for her while she is in school. It isn't the same as getting a long newsy letter, but it should add to the excitement as each new piece of art is collected by her at the mail room. She is a pretty shy kid and the thought of sending colorful art made from scanned images, photos and ephemera from our daily lives might just make her room mate or those standing around the mail boxes wonder just how cool she really is... and she will get little slices at home. The best part is that I can catalog all of them and create a little end of the year book with the images as a souvenir of each year! A very cool mother daughter bonding moment all with the help of art and a printer!
