Memorial Day weekend (two weeks ago already!?) we stopped by the
Perelman Building, a new-ish addition to the
Philadelphia Museum of Art, for the first time to check out an Ansel Adams exhibit, which was amazing. Not only did the exhibit include the grand landscapes he's known for, but there were also many intimate, impressionistic, close-ups of nature that I really loved.
While we were there, we discovered two other amazing exhibits. The first was an Art Deco and Bauhaus collection of housewares.
This is printed cotton. Oh! Can you imagine this as yardage!? It's totally feeding the sea shell fever I have right now. I took a photo of the
artist's info, too, if you're interested.
This was part of a kimono exhibit. I'm flipping over the color combination in this one. Light blue, yellow, orange, and deep red. Wow!
And there are all sorts of amazing architectural animals lurking about the doorways, like this owl. And, look at
this squirrel and owl on their site! There are more pictures of our visit on
Flickr.
