Wedding Blanket

This is the blanket I made for my sister, Nancy, and her husband when they married over seven years ago.  That sucker is huge!  I made it long enough to hang over both sides of their king-sized bed.  Thank you so much, Nanner, for taking the time to take these for me.  I know you're busy-busy-busy.

I picked the Christmas Rose Square pattern from 300 crochet Stitches, page 75.  I wanted it to be colorful but not overwhelming, so I chose a black for the lacy background and pastels for the flowers.  I really love how it turned out.

In some of the pictures I can see that my colored yarn ends have wiggled out.  Those darn ends!  I can also see that the Red Heart yarn is showing it's age ... although that means they've actually been using it, right? :)  And check out that funky corner join in the top left.  Argh!

I also talked about this blanket and my relationship with Red Heart yarn in this post, if you're interested.  There's a bunch more pictures on Flickr.

That's -great- that they are using it!

I often wonder if my Momster uses what I've made for her or if she just stares at it and shakes her head in that "she's my daughter, so I -have- to love her" sort of way ;)

Looks great, too!

Wow that totally blows my mind. It's humongous and you crocheted it! Stitches by hand!! I can't even finish a quilt with a sewing machine.

Red Heart and I have parted ways. I've decided that if I have the money to be spending on craft supplies in the first place, then I have the money to buy craft supplies that are worth my while.

The blanket is lovely, by the way.
