Are you having free download trouble?

I'm so excited about the overwhelmingly positive response I'm getting to the free downloads page.  You guys are the best! :)

Most people are having no problems with the free downloads, but it looks like there are some people who are.  It seems to be Safari users on the Mac (or, when I tested here at home, on the PC ... but who, would use Safari on a PC unless you're a web programmer who tests stuff?).

I need your help troubleshooting this issue:

- If you are having difficulty getting the free download PDFs to display in your broswer and you ARE NOT using Safari ... let me know.

- If you use Safari and it worked for you ... let me know.

- If you use Safari and it didn't work for you, please request a new download email and go to the links in a different browser (like Firefox, it's free) and let me know if the different browser worked for you.

Thanks to everyone who has already given me feedback and everyone who takes the time to help me troubleshoot the problem!

Hi, I had no problems downloading the seahorse pattern. It looks like a fun evening project. Thank you for sharing! Oh...I am using Internet Explorer with Vista.
Thank you,
Puglette
:o)

I wasn't able to download either. I'm on a Mac using Firefox 3.0.3.

I'm not on Safari and it didn't work for me. I already e-mailed you and such but I figured I'd comment anyway :]

Like Jenn, I'm on a Mac using FIrefox 3.0.3

I'm on a Mac, attempted on Safari. *Error* This link has already been used or is invalid.

Attempted to right click on link in email and download file, no response.
Attempted to manually copy and paste link, no response.

Copied link and tried pasting it into Firefox. Same error (although I had already tried to download so it could be that issue...)

I downloaded the seahorse pattern just fine yesterday, and I'm using Safari on a Mac.

I'm not having a problem with the download, but I am having trouble viewing your website. I usually use Firefox and I have Vista on a PC. But when I try to pull up your site on FireFox, it won't open and the browser crashes. I've never had this problem until the free downloads came up, I don't know if it's another problem. So the only way I can pull it up is on Internet Explorer.

I use Safari, and I got the email, and downloaded the PDF! PDFs auto-open in Safari for me, so there was no little "Save" icon in Adobe for me. I ctrl-clicked (or right-click, had I been using my mouse), and opened the file in Preview. From Preview, I just File->Save As. I may have been able to save the file directly from Safari, but idk, because I didn't try it ;)

Thanks a bunch, I love the meal planner! =]

I'm using Firefox on a Mac. I tried to download the meal planner. I received the email OK and clicked on the link which opened a page in Firefox. This page then prompted me to download a 'download.ashx' file and this wouldn't open once downloaded. I can however view your website fine. :O)

Hiya Alice,
I use Konqueror on KDE/ Kubuntu Linux. I know from experience that my browser re-downloads files when you press 'save', so i saved the pdf directly from the email (changing file type to .pdf). This worked fine. I wonder if this is what is happening to Safari users? Sounds like it from some of the comments above. :)

Hope this comment isn't totally useless,

Alice

I'm on a Mac and the Seahorse download wouldn't open using Firefox but was fine when I did it through Safari. It came through as a .ashx file but opened no worries :) Thanks, it looks fabulous!
