Flower Purse - Update 3

As I was spreading out the flowers to take this picture, I noticed that they weren't lining up correctly at the bottom right ... and then I noticed the bottom left  ... oh, no ...

Do you see it?

Crap.  I did the bottom two rows during the week when I was out and about.  Last night I started joining the bottom two rows to the rest of the rows ... and I missed a flower.  I guess it's good that I'm doing these Saturday updates, or I wouldn't have noticed that until I was done.  Also, looking at this picture, I think I can just undo the bottom edges of those flowers and make it right.  I hope.

Actually, I'm really glad I started doing the Saturday project updates because it's kept me focused the last couple of weeks.  There are all sorts of other projects I want to start or work on ... but then I think "but I've gotta post something about the flower purse on Saturday, so I better get on it."

Whatever works, right? :)

Well, once I fix my snafu, I only have four more flowers to do before I start on filling in all the dark brown connectors (like I have between the top two rows).

yup, you definitely missed those two. at first i thought wow, you only need to make four more light colored motifs then the brown ones and it's almost done. now that you have extra two, just two more for the inventory and off you go making the brown motifs.

you're really patient with this, i can't bring myself to make anything with motifs, just the thought of joining them afterwards scares me away, haha! well, good luck on your bag alice. :)

Even with the mistake (or, from another perspective, opportunity), it's looking good!

I admire your persistence!!

Oh man, if it were me this project would need a time out when I discovered the problem! :) You are much more patient than me, that's for sure! I'm really enjoying updating my craft blog once a week. It really helps me focus on what I want to accomplish and sometimes even gives me a little prod to pick up needles and/or hook.

Oh so neat! Well, not the skip but the whole idea of it! dropping those three and beginning again shouldn't be too much work. I can hardly wait to see the finished project.

Ooops!

I am just in awe about the fact that you can even manage to crochet those darn flowers. Im. Press. Ive.

I still have not even mastered the crochet basics

::sigh::

Props to you (snafu and all!!)

I can't crochet, and I am blown away with the idea of making all these little things and joining them together to make the whole. I know I'd have a different number of flowers on every single line, and wouldn't have a clue how I'd managed it. All those little diversions from the pattern are the things that makes something special, whether they were intended or not :)

i gasped in sympathetic horror.

in craft news, i'm working on denim pants (i'm almost done, actually!), and my husband was sweet enough to pull out a fly's worth of stitches at 12 st/inch while my mother and i worked on pockets.

i need to knit again.

p.s.: yay cacti!

What photo editing program do you use? I like the border that you have on all of your images, that is a great idea. But most of all you have a very clear way of pointing out where you want people to focus their attention in your tutorials. I know I am going to have to invest in a program soon for my blog and I don't want to waste my money. Please either post your reply here or on my blog. Thanks for a year of great posts!
