On Saturday I noticed that Michael's was having a 30% off sale on ALL their yarn ... and it ended *on* Saturday. Ack! I high-tailed it over there, not really sure what I was going to pick up.
I like ruminating for months over what I want to do. Seriously. Then, once I work it all out in my head, I'll follow through. Well, I knew I wanted to make the
Icelandic Turtleneck from
Crochet Me, but I hadn't quite figured out what yarn I wanted to use.
I swear ... I spent about an hour standing in the yarn section of Michael's just touching yarn. The same yarn. Over and over. I was having a trouble deciding. But my crafting budget is super TIGHT, so, if I was going to get the yarn for a whole sweater, I needed to get it on sale.
Finally, I decided to get Paton's Grace in viola (it's cotton). I started the sweater Saturday night and finished the turtle neck. Sunday I got half the yoke done. Last night I got all but two rows of the yoke done. It's going pretty fast.
So far, so good. I'm 80% sure I'll end up having to alter the pattern to fit me, and I think there is a 25% chance I'll botch the alterations, but I hope it all works out in the end.
Today it was in the 70s! We took long walk today to enjoy the spring weather. I got some great lion photos that I'll post later. I'm 99% sure I passed a fellow crafter on Pine. If it was *you* ... Hi! :)
