Updated The Seamless Single Crochet Tutorial

Since I posted my Seamless Single Crochet Tutorial a year ago, I've had several people email with questions.  I tried my best to answer their questions in words, but sometimes only pictures will do.

Some of the tricky parts are "turn your item clockwise" and "put your hook in the space between the first and last stitch of the previous row."  I think my new images, with arrows and yarn stitch markers, are much clearer now.  And, as you probably saw, I've added a supplement to my Seamless Single Crochet Tutorial so you can see how to end/start a row from both the inside and outside of your item.  I thought it was too much to add the images to the existing tutorial.

I also added a bigger image of the completed non-seam with the deep single crochet stitches and the slip stitch/turning chains highlighted.  Which should help anyone check their sample.

As always, if you've used my tutorial and have any questions or comments, please let me know.  I love getting feedback.

Wow. Thank you so much for adding the new photos and especially the arrows. I thought I knew what you meant already, but now for sure I'll know the next time I try it. You're brilliant, and so generous to offer your tutorials. I know how much time it takes, and your pictures are so clear. I appreciate your effort and energy spent in teaching us all. :0)

I have to bookmark the tutorial for when I get my ass around to making some of those amigurumi critters with the Japanese patterns. Thanks for posting.

I used the original tutorial for making a bag for my mum. It worked perfectly so many thanks. I'd always wondered if there was a way to do this, without having to crochet in the round and get all that twist-i-ness! Plus it was so lovely to have sooo little sewing to do at the end. Next time I see my mum, I will get a photo of the finished article.

You have totally lit a fire under my bed to earn how to crochet. Sometime this week I will sign up for December classes! Very kinds & generous of you to post the tutorial, by the way.

And I DID NOT type the word bed in my post! Blogger seems to have replaced the word I DID type with bed instead. Interesting...
