The Importance of Being Ernest

This is my finished elephant from Sock and Glove.  I am one-hundred-percent sorry that I didn't make his little arms and legs have the round circle ends.  I thought I was saving time, and that I would finish him that night by just sewing the ends up.  I should have known better, because it took me three and a half months to finish him anyway.  Oh, I hate crafting regrets!

But, Ernest is a cutie and I love him, in all his turtlenecked, hunchbacked glory.  Hopefully he doesn't hate me for maiming his little arms.  Last night he spent his first tour of duty watching over us with Neville, and, just like Neville, his creepy white button* eyes seem to gleam in the dark.

* I used buttons from a Thank You card from LeeAnn of Mint Basil

Aww ... what a lovable, long-nosed little dude! I'm sure he doesn't begrudge you his lack of cylindrical feet.

And thanks for your note ... I am just starting to get friendly with my new version of Photoshop.

Oh, he's so cute! I wouldn't have thought twice about round little feet if you hadn't mentioned it - he looks adorable just the way he is! I've been wanting to make some sock toys from that book too.

His little paws look just like my Neville's. I think it's cute, and I wish you didn't have craft regret about it. Ernest is my new hero. He's a sock! He's an elephant! If he visits Nevilleland he can ride on a dirigible!

Oooh he's so cute. I forgot all about him and that I wanted to make one. I forgot I had to ask Alan which socks he didn't like. Hope I can remember tomorrow.

He's cute! I need to try my hand at more softies. BTW, with the whole moving thing/new job training I don't know if I replied saying that I got my "spooky" invite in the mail. It is super cool! Thanks!

I think the wobbly trunk is best it looks like he has half a trunk full of water and he's holding his breath till he can squirt it over someone......so watch out!
