Huzzah! This weekend I finally figured out a way to use my beads to make a closure for Hemlock
This has taken FOREVER to accomplish. I tried everything I could think of. The funny thing is that the final closure is so simple, you'd think it'd be the first thing that came to mind.
I wanted the closure to be removable so if I changed my mind later, it would be easy. Check! I wanted to use these milky green beads. Check! I wanted the closure to look good. Check!
I still need to weave in the ends from attaching the closures. I also want to block the bottom hem ... both to open up the lace and to make the bottom edge a little wider (hip-width, ahem).
This kind of closure would work great for any knitted edge (you'd need some holes), but especially nice for a lace edging.
I took photos of the whole process of making the closures and attaching them. Are you interested in a tutorial?
