Introducing Fractured

I started another sweater, Fractured.  The pattern is Dragonflies by Joji Locatelli.

I'm working on the yoke right now.  The actual pattern calls for DK and I'm using Sport.  Based on my gauge, I need to make the 46"/48" so it will come out around 36.5"

That's great for my chest, but my hips are a little wider.  It's possible the lace will stretch enough, but I may need to widen the sweater at the bottom.  No biggie when you are making a top down sweater, which is why I prefer those kinds of patterns. :)

I named my sweater "Fractured" because the colorway is Basalt and the geometry reminds me of pattern at the top of columnar basalt which I learned about when I was googling basalt to choose a name for my sweater. :)

The lace also makes me think of square tulips.  It's a pretty and interesting lace pattern.  I think the sweater looks modern and fashionable.  And, in gray, it's going to match EVERYTHING.

The sweater has raglan sleeves.  Here is the top shoulder part of the yoke.

Overwhelming! the number of little sweaters you currently have on the needles!

Love the story of where you came up with the name for this one! And the yarn is truly the color of basalt. This one will be a beauty and a very striking contrast for your gorgeous hair!

pam ... I like having three projects going so if one gets frustrating or boring, I have at two others to choose from. :) I'm pretty excited about this sweater. I think it's going to be pretty awesome.
