Glitter Yarn

I have a handful of skeins in both  Lion Brand Glitterspun and Patons Brilliant.  Both are discontinued lines of yarn.  I would love to come up with something glittery to wear from them.  Between the two yarns, I have barely enough for a sweater vest, probably, so either it will have to be something super lacy or something smallish.

I think the colors would look great together.  Perhaps something with stripes? Color block?  Glittery sweaters are super popular this season ... of course, what are the odds I'll have something knit to wear *this* fall, right? :)

I did find a couple moments to play around with short rows.  I was thinking I could use them to shape a v-neck.  This swatch isn't quite what I was imagining, but I think there might be something to my idea.

I think a nice shrug or wrap for the upcoming holidays would be nice. I wouldn't put it too close to my neck as the glittery yarn tends to be scratchy - is it? How soft is it?

Densie ... It's not as scratchy as you'd imagine.

Ohh, I have a few skeins of glitter yarn I don't know what to do with either. Too bad they aren't the same colors as yours or I'd send 'em off to you. Looking forward to see what you decide!

If I were you, I would not put them together, but mixed with a black yarn for both, maybe for a jacquard pattern or the edge of a cardigan/cache-coeur.
If one day you have time and want to create a new tutorial/video, I would really appreciate one on how to knit faster/more efficiently. All your tips would be welcomed as I start again knitting after a very long period of inactivity (I still prefer crocheting as I am faster and I have only one stitch to manage ;)).

Carine ... I love your suggestions for the sweater. As for knitting faster, this video taught me continental which is much speedier than throwing http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XuRLFl36tDY

A snood, or gloves if it's not too itchy? Good luck.

If you want a bigger sweater you might want to stretch the two yarns with stripes of a more basic yarn.

I'm currently knitting a sweater with Flicker and a sparkly laceweight (which of course I forgot the name of).

I was thinking shrug, too. Some of the short or three-quarter sleeved ones are nice. You might also use the glitter yarn for the top part of the body and sleeves and finish them with another yarn--maybe in black or taupe (based on how your yarn looks on my monitor)?

You might try Ysolda's lisel sweater it takes very little yarn, you could skip the sleaves and have a lacy sparkely vest.
Picking the next project is half the fun , enjoy.

I wish the Glitterspun wasn't discontinued because when I saw your picture, it made me want to buy some to make a ribbed scarf!
