Mending Pile - Neville

I've written about my sweet bear, Neville, before.  It's weird to realize he's almost 12 years old.  A couple months ago I pulled him by the arm and heard a seam pop.  I thought it was his arm socket, but it was his arm seam.  Thank goodness, because that's easy to fix.

This is how I sleep with Neville.  I think this is called a sleeper hold.  I know he looks like he's trying to escape, but he loves it.

Some quick work with a needle and thread fixed him right up.  Seeing how thick this faux fur fabric is amazes me once again that a sewing machine could handle it.

See?  Good as new.

He is not trying to escape. All he wants is hugs. I see it on his eyes, they say "Pliiiizz, hug me"

i have to admit that i still sleep with my blankie (or at least the third incarnation...the other two are a bit thread-bare, but i still have them), though i no longer suck my thumb...the blankie (be-be) still creeps out my sisters ( : i take it traveling too, along with my pillow...you never know what you will find in terms of pillows.

oh, and i am 40 years old...i agree with betsy, you are never too old for a special thing.

kate the kid ... I had other teddy bears that traveled with me, but Neville stays at home. Pillows are a good idea, but we like to travel light. :)

Adorable! I have a Neville, too - a stuffed dog my husband gave me when we were dating and he's tagged along with us for over 20 years. I don't know where he is right now, but he's turned up in closets and my kids rooms recently. (Maybe I will have to dig him out to stay next to me while hubby is away.)
Thanks for sharing!

Hmmm...do you have any suggestions on how to mend a monchichi? I have one whose arm is just about torn off. Isabelle keeps asking me to fix him but I'm stumped. It's sort of like a hole rip big mess thing.

Kuky ... I would probably fix the body armless, then fix the arm bodyless, then attach the arm to the body. Maybe patch fabric needs to be involved. :)

I have a bunny named ... you guessed it... "Bunny". I've had and loved since I was 15. He looks just like the bunny from the christmas special "For better or for worse : The bestest present". I actually have a pretty hard time sleeping without him. And I feel super lucky that the boyfriend doesn't mind the extra space being taken up.
