Here's my little lion from
Super-Cute Crochet. Amigurumi is so quick and fun. An easy way to use tiny amounts of yarn.
The photo of the lion in the book shows the mane strands attached latch hook style. After doing one row of hair that way I was *over* that. I ended up just threading two strands of yarn in a yarn needle and threading it in his head randomly. Sooooo much easier. This wouldn't work if a kid was going to play with it, you know, unless you use edible yarn. ;)
I trimmed the mane around his ears so you could see them. I think I made his legs a little too long. Otherwise, I think he's adorable!
Right before I started I thought to myself, "Hey, it would be cute to use two or three colors of yarn in the mane." But the project went so fast that I forgot.
I'm happy I finally used some of my safety eyes. I bought them YEARS ago when I first started making stuffies and this is the first time I've used any.
He's got no name. Any suggestions?
