Le Singe Volant

Le Singe Volant is French for The Flying Monkey.  It's been my favorite French phrase since I saw With a Friend Like Harry ... about a decade ago (great movie, by the way).
Technically, this monkey is'nt actually flying, but he is up in the air, so, close enough.  :)  This is just a teaser photo of the embroidery I'm doing on the eco-felt I'll be reviewing (soon?  soon!).

I just used my eco-felt for some kids' t-shirts. The shirts have both embroidery and felt applique on them (mostly words + pictures). I'll be curious to hear how you like it as compared to acrylic felt.

Meanwhile, you are some artist! Just look at that drawing... Awesome.

Well, I'm not saying I'm *not* an artist, but I'm using permission-free clip art here. I'll tell you more about it in my actual post. :)

When I think of flying monkeys I am usually a little creeped out. But your monkey is not a scary flying monkey at all. I think he is fun! I can't wait for the whole post! :D

I am very interested in how you transferred the pattern to the felt. Or did you draw it free hand while referencing the clip art?

Kristin ... I use tear away stabilizer which is thin enough to see through. Check my embroidery on felt tutorial for specifics: http://www.futuregirl.com/craft_blog/2007/5/tutorial-embroider-on-felt.aspx
