This Too Shall Pass
When life gives you lemons
... make an owl wallet from a kit.
It makes things seem not-so-bad. Trust me.

I hope whatever has got you down passes quickly. I'm glad your owl friend there is making you feel better. :)

LOVE! That little wallet would definitely cheer me up! Where did the kit come from?

The last couple of months have been pretty tough. Real life can really suck sometimes. June is going to be challenging, too. I'm trying to keep my chin up though. It won't last forever. :)
I'm doing all I can to keep things in perspective. Let's just say this, Googly eyes are a balm for the soul.
Carmen ... I bought the kit at normal craft store. Michael's, I think. It was in the kid's section and came with a blunt needle and all the fixin's. And, just so you don't think I'm cheating on my challenge, I bought it a couple years ago. :)

I agree with you, real life really does suck sometimes =( Better times will come, keep your chin up. Or as we say in Germany: "Keep your ears stiff!" Ah yes, translating literally is always great *g*

Sweet owl! Kits are like coloring books and escapist "literature"- easy to get in the zone. And not think about all that real life stuff.

Sometimes there is nothing like accomplishing *something* to make you feel better about all the things you can't really do anything about. Hope that cute little guy does the trick.

Hi Alice, I am back after taking a break to concentrate on my new blog platform and layout. The first thing I see in your blog is this cute little leather owl, this is going to brighten up my day. Thanks for sharing!!!
I need to do some catch-ups on what have been falling behind....

Am I the only one who doesn't understand why the "When life gives you lemons" link heads to Google Search? I'm feeling particularly dumb for not getting it, I must say.

Blue ... Sorry to confuse you! A lot of people who aren't in the US and aren't native English speakers visit my blog and I wanted to give them a way to figure out what the heck I was talking about. I tried to find a simple site that explained the saying "When life gives you lemons, make lemonade." so they'd know I was playing with that phrase, but none of them were all that good.
Now that you mention it, though, the Google search page isn't much better (although I was thinking they could click around until they found something that made sense to them). hmmmm.

It's adorable and agreed about the googly eyes.
