Living My Dream

A while back I revealed my long-time dream of being a lead singer in a band.  I never in my *wildest* dreams imagined being a lead singer in a band and a superstar crafter at the same time.  So, when I got an email from Court from
ATO Records, I was blown away finding that exact dynamic duo of coolness in one person ... Lisa Hannigan.

I hadn't already discovered her music, but it was only a matter of time because Andrew and already love many of ATO Record's bands.  Eventually we would have fallen in love with Lisa, too.  And, just so you know what I'm talking about, take a moment to watch these two beautiful videos:

Lisa Hannigan - Lille from ATO Records on Vimeo.

Lisa Hannigan - I Don't Know from ATO Records on Vimeo.

Lisa's brother and a friend created the pop up books in Lille.  How amazing are they?!  Gorgeous.  The paper cuts in I Don't Know make me want to cut everything in sight and turn my bedroom into a forest of paper leaves, owls, and hollow trees.  Did you see the mushrooms and the tiny castle on the hill?!

Lisa's music is so soothing and amazing.  Her voice is like a hug from a good friend.  I think her overload of adorableness is the only reason I'm not pea green with envy, which I think I would be totally entitled to. :)

ATO Records is offering Lille as a free MP3 ... so click that link to download it!

The only thing that gave me a little twinge of jealousy is her amazingly crafty-themed website.  I mean, her website looks more craft-related than the majority of craft blogs I've seen!  Her mother created the knitting used as the background.  The embroidery and applique are a part of the month-long sewing project she embarked on after finishing her album where she stitched all the liner notes for her album.

Oh, yes.  You read that right.  The entire CD sleeve, liner notes, and lyrics are hand embroidered by her.  Beautifully so.

Court was kind enough to send me a copy of Lisa's album and a five-pack of dice buttons.  (How did I not get a photo of those?  Must remedy!)  Thank you, Court!

I know, I know! So awesome. I had never heard of her until a high school friend announced on facebook that she was going to be playing violin with Lisa Hannigan on the Tonight Show. Such serendipity, because she was made for me.
