Softies Only A Mother Could Love - Giveaway Winner

When I do a giveaway I like to ask a question to keep the comments interesting, but this time I hit the mother lode!  I highly encourage you to go back
and read all 118 comments.  There are so many funny, sweet, touching, and wonderful stories!  Thank you so much for sharing your memories!

And, without further ado, Chris P. is the winner of a copy of Softies Only a Mother Could Love, and here is her story:

I had a larger red and green frog/dragon. I named him Knickerbocker because that was the name on the tag-I was too little to know that was the brand-just thought it was way cool. Had him until I went to college-then my mom tossed him. I was heartbroken!!

You guys are the best!  Thank you for making my blog such a warm and cuddly place. :)  Man, you're all making me so sappy today!  Shucks ... if things get much more saccharine around here I might have to go kick someone in the shin to keep from succumbing to the sweetness of it all.

... or maybe I could have Michelle teach me the tricks of the spooky portrait trade, because sister's got that one down pat!

hi Futuregirl! I can't help wondering if the US edition of this book is somehow different from the DownUnder edition (which you can see here: http://www.penguin.com.au/lookinside/spotlight.cfm?SBN=9780670070824). Coz in our version there is a quite elaborate crochet pattern for a certain pirate captain. Did they leave that one out for the U.S? If so then it was bit sloppy of the publisher not to alter the title.! There is also a sequel book (known here as More Softies), which is just as cute and has elephants and owls and robot bears!

oh, and keep up the great blogging!
