When I was getting ready for the move, I set aside my crochet hooks, some stitch markers, scissors, some needles, and a couple other little tools. I figured I'd decide what raw materials to take later.
Thank goodness I grabbed a ball of yarn, because it gave me
one project to do, but I never ended up picking out anything else to bring (everything is in storage). I wanted to bring everything, so it was hard to choose.
So, frustrated with all tools and no raw materials, I spent $1.32 on a spool of black thread. I asked my friend
Kuky to lend me an embroidery hoop, and she sweetly obliged. I fully intended on doing a little embroidery, but I ended up crocheting with the thread.
Your Eagle Eyes might have noticed that I have a spool of thread in my tool-stash photo. It was to make a repair to my jeans on the trip across. The thought of doing a bunch of embroidery with denim blue thread was unappealing. I thought black would be interesting and flexible.
My smallest hook with a handle cushion is the 3.25mm, which isn't so small, but whatever, it worked. Look at what I did.
Not sure what to do with it, or what could be done with it, or if anything *should* be done with it, but BOY HOWDY it felt like heaven to be crocheting.
Heaven.
So, you'll notice that my spending total for this year's craft materials (see craft challenge for more info) has been changed to $1.32.
Oh, and commenting is back with some restrictions ... namely, I have to approve every comment. I'll be relaxing that restriction as soon as I make a couple other changes, but I was SO HAPPY to see that I got *one* spam comment last night. It seems like they gave up when they realized their comment didn't show up. I hope the jerks are gone forever.
Although, now that I think about it, that confirms what I suspected. There were actual people leaving spam comments on my blog. A bot would have kept leaving comments not realizing they weren't showing up.
Who do you think is toiling away leaving spam comments on blogs all day long? 8-year-olds in dark basements, the lackeys of third world mobsters, or maybe the minions of hell? Ha! I guess we'll never know.
