Contests and Swaps

Anti-V-Day Contest

I'm so excited to be a judge for the 2nd Annual Black Heart Anti-Valentines Day Contest from Dabbled.org.  I judged last year, too, and there were so many great entries.  It warmed my stony little heart. ;)

Other bloggers ask me a lot about growing an audience.  The key is to make connections with bloggers that you like and that like you ... the same kind of thing you do in real life.  It's something you work at little-by-little.  It takes time and effort.

One of the ways to do this is to enter contests and swaps for things that really interest you.  If you have a dark streak, hold holidays in disdain, abhor Valentine's Day, or just generally have a twisted sense of humor, this contest is the perfect opportunity for you to show others your creativity.

If you're a bundle of sweetness and light, love Valentine's Day, or just generally have a cheery disposition, I bet there are all sorts of adorable contests to enter instead of this one.  The point is to find a group activity that interests you and jump in.  Plus, it's fun!  Especially when you win. ;)

Mushroom Swap

I also just signed up for Knitsonya's Handmade Mushroom Swap which is going to be awesome!  You can still sign up, so scoot over there.

Swaps are great stash busters, too!

Hey! Thanks for the mushroom swap link! I've already entered the contest for the anti-valentine so I thought I'd give a shout out to all the judges, couldn't hurt right? :)

Anti-valentine, you say? I'm sure I could do something awesome with my anatomical heart jewelry, but I don't know if I'll have the time what with classes just starting up and all.

It doesn't say you can't enter older work, though. But I've got some cool ideas for a new piece too... Hmm.
