(In the picture: Bethany - Alice - Korallin)
Last Friday I got a chance to hang out with
Korallin of Kuky Ideas and
Bethany of Bitter Betty in San Francisco's Japantown. Japantown is a seriously cool place. When I lived in San Francisco, I would go there occasionally, but now that I have an insatiable hunger for Japanese craft books - not to mention the freshly made crepes at the place next to the book store - I don't think you would be able to get me OUT of Japantown, if we lived there.
I had a terrific time searching through
Kinokuniya with them. Not only does the San Francisco location have a great Japanese craft book section, but they also have craft books in English, so I got to thumb-through
Lotta's new book. We touched just about everything in Ichiban Kan, the Japanese Superstore - stationery, Pocky, plastic boxes of all sizes, stuff, and things. Hanging out with them was super fun and so easy - I felt like we'd been friends for a long time even though we'd never met before.
No one blinked an eye when I asked if they'd do the Godzilla and Sumo wrestler ... thing. What the heck is that called? Photo-op? I don't even know. Obviously, we were all having a great time.
Bethany and Korallin are two of the nicest people I've ever met. I'm so glad I had a chance to hang out with them. You guys are the best! Thanks for driving up to the city to see me. :)
