Boing BoingI woke up this morning with my inbox stuffed with pattern orders. I quickly found out that sweet
Normanck submitted
my post about Lenore to Boing Boing and they put up a post linking to me. Nothing makes a girl feel more like a rock star than getting three times her normal web traffic. It's pretty funny that the
first time it happened in May 2006, I was a little annoyed. What was I thinking?!
Secret NewsThen I find another piece of awesome news in my inbox that had had me jumping down the street during our daily walk, singing doofy songs. It didn't help that it was snowing out, which was just too fun. I can't tell you the news until tomorrow ... but that doesn't stop me feeling good about it today.
Just For Fun PackageThen, to top it all off, I got a wonderful package from crafty-but-blogless Veronica. She just wanted to say "Thank You" for my tutorials, my site, and just being me ... which really is too sweet for words. Look at all the wonderful goodies she included.
I LOVE this reversible pin cushion! She made it using a pincushion pattern from Heather Bailey. This will be my ironing board pin cushion, which is currently pin cushion-less. :) Of course the embossed felt (in the background) is going to get put to good use.
This felted pouch is so very soft and has the most beautiful silver button to keep it closed. It will come in super handy in my larger bags.
She also included a ton of this fabric. It's at least a yard, maybe two! It's right up my alley. I love the swirly design that hints at paisley and the large multi-colored flowers. It's perfect for a bag lining.
Thank you so much, Veronica!
The 411 On The Houndstooth EarmuffsAnd for all of you that asked (or wanted to ask) about
my earmuffs ... they appear to be some sort of black-market goods. There is no tag on them, the hang-tag was black with the price ($8) hand-written on it. No printing at all. For all I know, I'm funding terrorism with my earmuff purchase. :)
The funny thing is I was looking for normal earmuffs all over the city because I wanted to crochet a cover for the ear-balls so they'd match my scarf. NO ONE has normal earmuffs, everyone only carries those sporty behind the head ones which I am not interested in. I finally found the houndstooth ones in a "funny t-shirt, novelty socks, and smoking paraphernalia" store. Ironically, they match my scarf perfectly, so they scuttled my craft project plans. :)
