Ravelry And (Gasp) Another Ornament

I got my invite to Ravelry today!  I've been holding my breath since I put myself on the waiting list.  I figured I waited too long to sign up and the user name "futuregirl" would be taken*.  Lucky me!!  It was still available!  I only had a second to look around, but it looks like a great site.

Yesterday I got this ornament from Jessica at Funky Finds.  How adorable is her little dog?!

I'm still moving forward with the idea of building my own blog application, which is a good sign since I've usually given up on the whole idea by this point.  Andrew and I have been discussing ways for me move foward with a completely different system while still having all the old pages (or at least *appear* to have all the old pages).  There are still some details to work out and concepts to be tested, but I think the whole thing might be a lot easier than I imagined.  Either that or I'm deluded.  Time will tell.

* on Flickr and Etsy I use futuregirl_dot_com/futuregirldotcom ... because no one ever has that. Wonder why? ;)

Really? Like a from scratch system? I am so interested to see how it goes! For the record, I like blogCFC, and there's a lot more I could do with it if I, ahem, applied myself. Of course that means CF hosting, which can be pricey... Have fun!

Best of luck!

I hope the concepts become reality without too much trouble. I, myself, am only slightly Geekified, but my SO/BF is a through and through Geek and I have a fair idea of what you are undertaking will actually involve.

I'll keep an unlimited number of appendages crossed for you :)

You really are getting some amazing ornaments!!

Good luck with the blog building. You must have a lot of patience to tackle something like that. I'm sure it will be so satisfying once it's all finished and looking beautiful!

Wow, that's a big project! I'm sure that it will be fun (we all need a challenge!) and that you will learn a lot of interesting concepts...like computer stuff that I don't understand ;)

I got my Ravelry invite today! I, too, had been holding my breath and actually a little saddened as the days passed without it. I literally wiggled when I saw the email this morning.

Best of luck with the blog app! It's mind boggling enough for me to commit to toying with an existing app, let alone invent one of my own!
