Back To Normal

Crafting

This is what my crafting table looks like.  I love it messy and full of projects.  After dealing with the Blogger headache, I decided I was just going to make stuff the rest of the weekend.  Saturday night, and most of the day Sunday, I worked on a batch of birdcage handbags.  But I ran out of snaps last night after all the stores were closed, so I switched to stuffie designing.

Stuffies

I've been trying to design a fox stuffie for a year and a half.  I feel like I'm finally on the right track, but who knows when I'll finally finish the poor little guy.  Some of my misshapen attempts are on the table in that picture.  The rest of them are hidden in a zip-loc bag off-camera.  I had a couple of good ideas as I fell asleep last night.  Maybe they'll be the key to a successful fox.

BYOB (build your own blog)

Andrew has been trying to convince me to write my own blog application since I started blogging two years ago.  After this weekend, I'm 99% sure that I'm going to.  I know that TypePad and WordPress have loyal fans, but none of the platforms offer exactly what I want, which is complete control.  It's the ultimate DIY project for a craft blogger, isn't it? :)

Mr. Piggles And Ornament Addiction

These two cuties arrived for me and Andrew today from the super-awesome Laurie at Old School Acres.  They've already made themselves at home playing our German games from Isa. I steered away from ornament swaps this year because I didn't want the pressure.  Plus, I don't actually celebrate Christmas, so I don't have a big, beautiful tree to put them on.

But I've found myself springing into action when it comes to being the first of 5 (or 2, or whatever) commenters on a post to get in on bloggers' ornament giveaways. I can't resist.  I love ornaments!  They are one of my favorite parts of winter, along with hot cocoa, peppermint, dark chocolate, snowflakes, sparkly lights, scarves, and good times with the people I love.

I'm interested in the Build Your Own Blog. Would it be something you could sell?

Green Kitchen - It might be the kind of thing I could sell. I'm not sure what kind of market there is, though, since there are free blogging applications out there.

Hurray for sweet piggies and for ambitious DIY blog builders . . .

I'm with you and your winter list. All the other delights of the season tend to get steamrolled by the xmas machine - that is stated ruefully as someone who does celebrate. Darned kids!

Nice to have you 'back, futuregirl :)

(though, i must comment that your CraftBlog for a while had the headline "I think I'm going to vomit" and your BlogBlog's headline was "I [heart] Cock" ;) )

As for the photo of your craft table.. i'm envious. i have a "Geek Room" but have to get it 'visitor ready' for the 26th December (just in time for thinking of starting my own small business! argh! )

it really is good to have you back :)

I use sBlog, it's open source. I'm pretty happy with it but it definitely needs improvements here and there. I've been able to do some but I never really got into php so it's a bit frustrating for me to work with. There's quite a few open source blogs to choose from at www.opensourcecms.com.

I so love seeing your sewing area in action! Lovely sight!

I am so enamoured by all the gorgeous sea creatures you make. I happen to have a thing for jellyfish but my favorite of your work is the adorable sea horses.
