Shop Update - Wristlets

I've added these four wristlets to my handmade shop.

I made them using ecru cotton yarn and my seamless single crochet technique.  The handle is spool knit and securely knotted to the wristlet.  The top closes with a zipper.  They are lined with the bird cage print.

I'm always on the search for cute things to use as zipper pulls, but I haven't found anything I really really like yet.  Does anyone have suggestions?

I'm in no hurry, though, because I'm still loving the fabric zipper pulls.  Maybe that's why it's so hard to find something to replace them with.

I do all the folding and ironing for the pulls by hand.  I really need to invest in one of those fancy bias tape makers I've been seeing on everyones' blogs.

Just don't go running out of that birdcage fabric, y'hear?

Bias tape maker? $6 miracle.

What about a small braid or crochet chain with a small felt cutout at the tip - leaf, dot, etc? Or yarn-with-bead?

Or... I dunno, I guess that's about all I've got.

Bias tape is so fun! Make sure to get the Clover bias tape makers. I have a couple Clover and a couple some other brand, and the difference is so obvious that I'm eventually going to replace my off-brand ones.

Lovely as always!

This is kind of random, but it was the first thing that popped into my head about the zipper pulls. You know those little doodads you can buy for attaching to the end of the chain for ceiling fans? I guess it depends on what's out there and what kinds of stores carry them (I'm slightly out of touch now, ha!) so I don't know if it's an avenue worth exploring.

Did you buy a bolt of the bird cage fabric? It's one of my favorite fabrics.

I think your pulls look great the way they are. But I was thinking of what to use for zipper pulls myself because I want to make a little sewn zipper bag for a friend. I was thinking little felt shapes would be cool. But more work than making the pulls yourself.

Another possibility is using metal charms as pulls. But I think I like the fabric ones you already do way better.

I was thinking that making a beaded pull would be kind of cool, like ambercake suggested. Or maybe you can find some kind of cool charm to go with the purses and wristlets you make. My mother bought me some really cute bumble bee ones that I can't wait to use.

Felt is actually a good idea - I might try that sometime.

Endlessly jealous of your creations. How about wiring beads together to make little zipper pulls .... you could even bead little bird shapes ......
