Crochet Wristlet

Ester emailed me in November and asked if I would make a wristlet for her.  Of course!  Luckily, I knew how crazy my schedule would be, so I warned her it would be done after the new year.  See, I'm right on time.

I love wristlets.  I was very afraid of the whole zipper thing.  It took me four tries to get the zipper exactly how I wanted it.  I was so happy when I finally did it, that I sat there ZIP. ZIP. ZIP. for about 5 minutes saying, "Hey, look, a zipper!"

I like the crochet strap because it's soft against my wrist and it's stretchy, but it twists up a little when it's off my wrist.  I'm thinking about making next one with a fabric strap that matches the bag lining.  What do you think?

that is so cute! Love the little bird.

I think the fabric strap would be cute- you pick such great fabrics for the inside of your bags.

I think a fabric strap would be a really nice contrast to the crocheting.

And zippers...scary. I just sewed one on the weekend and it's crap. Pure CRAP. But it was practice on a dog pillow so that's ok.

i kind of love the crochet strap as it is...but you'd probably sway me by creating a most brillant fabric strap too...this is such a perfect bag!

I love the wristlet, I think a fabric strap to match the lining would be a great idea. Keep up the crafty work!

I've already learned 2 newthings this morning. What a "paperbag swag" is and what a wristlet is.
Lovely, lovely wristlet! I'm going to have to get out a thesaurus of synonyms soon.

I hand embroider my tags. This way, I can make each one match the bag. It takes a little longer, but it's totally worth it. :)

Neat stuff! I'm glad I found your blog. For the crocheted handle - maybe you could line it with a strip of fabric?

you could always line it with a thin strip of your fabric... that way you get the best of both.
