We had dinner at
Rue 57 this week. It's in New York on the corner of 57th Street and 6th Avenue. I can't even begin to tell you how amazing everything was. The image above is from their website. We were sitting to the right of the big flower arrangement (small tree?!).
I started with a warm mushroom salad, which sounded like it would either oog me out or be wonderful. I was, by far, the most wonderful dish I'd ever eaten containing mushrooms.
The menu is almost half seafood, which we don't eat. When Andrew picked the chicken meal I normally would have ordered, I decided to be adventurous again and order the French Meatloaf. IT WAS EFFING AWESOME. The tomato-based sauce it came with was delicious. Not to mention the mashed potatoes and baby carrots that were served with it.
The service was awesome and so was the crusty, warm French bread they bring to the table. I loved the interior, too. If you are ever in Manhattan and want a nice French dinner (they have sushi, too), I totally recommend Rue 57.
