I've been plesantly surprised at what a great city Philadelphia is for eating out. We've found a lot of wonderful restaurants here. My new favorite is
Ludwig's Garten, an awesome German restaurant.
The first time we went, I got Spinach and Portabella Mushroom Spatzle, which was absolute heaven. The second time, I got the pulled pork sandwich - also heaven. The fries and onion rings come with a trio of dipping sauces. Andrew's ordered the wings (great) pan roasted chicken breast (which sounds boring, but actually was a lot like chicken caccitore - great), and Sliced Hot Roast Beef Sandwich au jus (yum yum yum).
They have a bazillion and one beers - it is the
28th best place to have a beer in the US. We tried several new-to-us German beers, and both of us have decided that Warsteiner Dunkel Lager is our FAVORITE BEER EVER. If you're ever in Philly and you hear someone just yell, "Varsteiner Dunkel!" That's us.
