I just don't need none of that Mad Max bullshit

Yesterday we saw a movie that had a character who lived on a piece of desert and grew her own food (Solitude, I recommend it).  Tonight we were talking about how everything in the world is becoming digital and dependent on electricity, which leaves us with one point of failure for everything.  I mentioned that, although I despise hippies, I see the value in living in a place with solar panels, a water supply, and where you can grow your own food.  Andrew said, "Then you're just a target for the leather clad bikers."  Well then, I guess we'll need some guns, too.

As you may have read at some point on my blog, I was raised by Hippies and I rebelled and get quite offended when anyone suggests that just because I like to grow my own food, preserve food, make my own clothes, listen to Cat Stevens, and talk about solar panels...that I am a hippie. I balance things out by driving a Vespa, shaving my arm-pits, and wearing make-up. I LOVE this subject though.

Do you think water guns would be enough?

I agree ... people shouldn't assume you're a hippie if you do those really smart things. I'm all about self reliance. Not so much on the 'love everyone' thing. :)

Water guns would be enough if the leather clad bikers are made of sugar, but in that case, I'd probably just eat them. ;)

Yes those are smart things. But I can't even seem to get it together to have basic emergency supplies. I keep thinking about how we need them...especially when we have a power outage. But do I get them. NOpe. But guns! I got them!! :-D

Who needs emergency supplies when you have guns? Maybe you just need a motorcycle and a leather vest. :)
